C) Pine texture
This is a close-up of a section of Jeffrey Pine, without the bark. You can identify different pines in our local ranges by counting the number of needles in bundles. Then you can pinpoint the species by checking the range and appearance of the cones. For species like the Jeffrey pine, it's vanilla-scented bark offers a memorable way to remember that particular species!
